So it’s officially been a long-ass time since I’ve posted anything here. In case there’s anybody in the world besides spam-bots looking at this site, here’s a bit of news: the end is near. I started this thing about a year ago sort of as a life-preserver. Given the situation(s) I was faced with at the time, I needed an outlet… a place to focus my energy and attention, so that I wouldn’t spend all my time destroying myself with it. Thus the site was born, and the various mixes I’ve posted throughout the year have been my expressions of whatever I felt at the time.

A few months into it, I picked up a second life-preserver… Capoeira. Wiki that shit, for those who aren’t in the know. I owe my life to this site and to Capoeira. I truly don’t believe I would be alive today if I hadn’t found these things. Rather, they found me… and have carried me through the hardest part of my life to date… from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs. And in this journey, I have healed my heart and soul. I have let go. In doing so, the need to pour myself into this site… or anything for that matter… the need to be distracted from ME has faded away. As such, I haven’t really done shit on paulfreak.com. However… I have been working on a set roughly since my last posting. The thing is, I bought a house 4 months ago and have been so busy doing this and that… there just hasn’t been time to get it done… until now. And so, my children… you are reading the intro to the outro… the page before the last of the chapter.

Very soon you will see one last set posted for the podcasters… and then it’s on to bigger and better things. I am eternally grateful for having been given the opportunity to live through the experiences of the past year, and to sort of ‘vent’ in a way here on these pages. To all who have listened… thank you. To all who have commented… thank you. To all who have harbored positive energy with my well-being in mind… thank you. With that, I’m off to tighten the nuts and bolts on this mix so I can get it up and get the hell on!

For those of you who have not yet heard, I’m in the process of buying a house! It’s in Venice, CA, and if all goes well over the next 3 weeks, I’ll be moving by the end of the year! Check it out…

For those of you who spent any significant amount of time with me during the hazy, post-college years in Santa Barbara, The Time Cube probably rings a bell. For those of you who didn’t, prepare to be introduced to Phase II. The Time Cube returns soon… so stay tuned!

The frequency with which I’m able to put up solid postings is decreasing, I know. But, it’s only because I’m taking on more and more in my life. It’s a beautiful thing. Rest assured, more is to come on this front. Stay tuned for a posting of a live set to be performed this Saturday, July 29! Los Angeles locals, hit me up if you want to come party with us! Music, dancing, drinking, capoeira… tons of fun!!!

Ok… so… the party happened… but I was having way to much fun of other sorts to get in a set. I did play lots of drunk capoeira! No pics though… next time! Stay tuned for a set that was born out of the playlist I had prepared for that night…

Welcome to the beginning of PaulFreak.com, a website I have created to share my musical passion with anyone who’s interested. This is going to start out as a place for me to distribute various DJ sets that I mix. All of the music I play at this time is not of my own creation, so I can take no credit on that end… yet.
