Freak Mixes

So when we were down in Brasil, the guys shot a bunch of footage of the week-long encontro for the purposes of making a documentary DVD. They wound up asking me to do some music for the thing. This was the first track I made, and thus the one I spent the most time on. There were a couple others, but they were sort of thrown together last minute with some cheats. This one here is more like my own… a manifestation of self… the First Lesson…

Primeira Aula

Come on now… you didn’t think I was gonna leave ya hangin… did you? I won’t have it. And now… 10 weeks in South America! Goal: Bring back new music.

Full Circle

This one is for all of you… from my past, present and future… for the 99.1/IE folk… for the DJs… for the dancers… for the lovers… for my friends… for my family… and for you, Coco… maybe this will scratch your itch… heh…

But honestly… it’s really for me… haha!

Now… normally I don’t do this, but… go ‘head and keep the party goin’… viva la fiesta!

When it feels this good, there’s only one thing to do…

Get Busy

If you missed the Beat Oracle show last week, don’t fret. The episode will be posted in its entirety on the Beat Oracle website. To hold you over, I spent some time in the studio this weekend doing another recording of the second set I had played on the show. There were a couple more things I wanted to do at the end before we ran out of time anyway, so it works out. Listen closely to the words in a lot of these songs… they speak for my heart… especially Grain of Sand. Check it.

Break Free

House music… all the way. This set is from my archives. I put it together near the end of 2004. My roots as a DJ take me back to house music and even though I don’t really play much of it any more, it is still one of my true loves. This isn’t your Sunday afternoon blaze a J and chill type of set, which is more what I’m like now. This is your Saturday night time to party for REAL set. In some ways, this serves as a flashback to something that used to burn wildly inside of me. I can tell you the flame has not burned out… only dimmed. The flames intensify and diminish independently, yet all the while the fire burns brightly. I wonder if you know what I’m talking about.

Body, Mind, Heart, Soul

This is the second of a pair of mixes I call Two Twisted Tales. I essentially did this and The Journey of a Lone Soul at the same time with the intention that they would fill up an audio CD… an “album” of sorts. In this mix, I’ve slowed it down even further and have encorporated a bit more of the hip hop groove in me. Your feedback is welcome and appreciated!

2 Reaching a Higher Vibration

This is the first of a pair of mixes I finished last April, entitled Two Twisted Tales. I’ve toned it down quite a bit since my days of slamming the floor with serious dance tunes. For those who still yearn to get sweaty to some thumping house music, check out my Body, Mind, Heart, Soul mix from 2004. I’ll be posting that soon. This mix touches very lightly on some downtempo house music. I would say that it is much more listenable than mixes I’ve done in the past though. It encorporates a variety of sounds that I love. Major props to the producers of these tracks! Let me know what you think.
